The state premiere of the documentary "Hitchock/Truffaut," which was shown at this year's Toronto International Film Festival, screens 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Dante Hall. In it, filmmakers discuss how Francois Truffaut's 1966 book, "Cinema According to Hitchcock," influenced their work. The film includes interviews with movie directors Wes Anderson, David Fincher, Martin Scorsese and others.
Keith Vaile, of Atlantic City, returns with the feature length "Black Wraith" 3 p.m. Saturday at Dante Hall and two shorts, "Betrayal" at 5:15 p.m. Saturday at the Arts Garage and "Slave Master: The Beginning" at 12:15 p.m. Sunday at Dante Hall.
Pat Kazanjian, of Atlantic City, directed "Breaktime," a short with a cast of special needs individuals, which will be shown as part of a 100-minute new dramatic shorts program starting 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the Arts Garage.
"Illusionism" is the latest film by Tony Picciotti, of Galloway Township. It is about an art student who relocates from campus to a private home for peace and quiet but discovers terror instead. Its world premiere is 7 p.m. Saturday at Dante Hall.
Actor Brian O'Halloran, 45, a former resident of Old Bridge Township, Middlesex County, will receive the creative achievement award during the awards ceremony 7 p.m. Sunday at Dante Hall. O'Halloran appeared in Kevin Smith movies that include "Clerks," "Dogma" and "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back."
